When your doctor tells you that use of T3 (or a low TSH from using T3 or NDT) will cause risks to your heart and bone health, read this from Rita!!

I have been on a combination of T4/T3 since the beginning of the year, optimally and with a suppressed TSH. And just three years ago, I was told I had osteopenia, which is weak bones that can lead to osteoporosis. This is probably from a lack of dairy for nearly 20 years because of gall bladder problems.

Fast forward to my appointment with my Endo yesterday. He told me that a bone scan I had in May was normal and showed no signs of osteopenia. (He didn’t know I had previously been diagnosed with it). He also said my spine is completely normal and hips are low/normal.

I told him, this is proof to me that the T3 is working. I have constantly been told that T3 and low TSH puts you at risk of Atrial Fibrillation and osteoporosis!!!! I fought really hard for several years to be put on combination treatment. I’m so glad I did.
